Gabe believes effective conservation involves an informed and active community whose interest in nature inspires actions and a sense of responsibility and passion for the environment. He developed his rather romantic views on conservation through his experiences in education, tourism, research, and life itself. Since 2011, he has been seeking ways to bring people and nature together, be it working as an environmental educator, guiding tourists, teaching middle school students, or performing fieldwork and doing research. Gabe joined Round River in 2019 and has since led multiple programs in Patagonia, Botswana, and Taku. Aside from conservation goals, his focus in these programs has been on creating memorable experiences for students, hoping to inspire and propel new leadership for conservation. In 2025, he started in a new role as Student Program Associate Director, aiming to put his experience in the service of Round River programs and conservation initiatives.
Gabriel earned a BSc degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo in 2015 and an MSc degree in Terrestrial Ecology from the same university in 2018. Beyond ecology, his interests include nature photography, bird watching, music, and football.
