Alonso Vigil Tirado

Alonso has a B.S. in Biology and a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Dryland Ecology. He has field experience across diverse ecosystems in Chile, including coastal lomas, the Atacama Desert, and Mediterranean shrublands, working primarily with annual plants and shrubs. His interests include functional ecology, biological invasions, conservation, and understanding how ecosystems respond to climate change. He has also taught ecology and statistics, helping students develop analytical and critical thinking skills. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, rock climbing and camping.
