Cal is from the Methow Valley in Washington state. She graduated with a BA in Environmental Science from Colby College in 2021, was a Round River student in 2019, and Round River instructor in 2022-2023. Cal migrates between Chilean Patagonia, Alaska and Washington for field work and a love for those places. She is a field biologist, commercial fisher, educator and woodcut printmaker. She works for the Cascades Wolverine Project and has also done lynx and glacier research in Washington state.

Cal is passionate about natural history, wildlife track and sign and art-science integration. She finds joy learning, skiing and backpacking in mountain ecosystems. She is excited to return to Chile for the fall 2026 semester to cultivate research in beloved communities and foster the growth of a new cohort of conservationists.
