Marcy Bucheit

Student Programs Assistant

Marcelite (Marcy) Bucheit is an early career conservationist, interested in wildlife health, research, and community outreach. She is passionate about connecting people to ecology, believing anyone can and should be a conservationist. Her experience as a participant on the Round River Botswana student program was formative for her career and she aims to connect more students with impactful experiences through Round River programs.

Prior to working with RRCS, Marcy served as an AmeriCorps member, spearheading community outreach and engagement for a watershed conservation non-profit. Through this experience, she developed a passion for storytelling and conveying the impact of an organization’s work. From this role, she brings skills in social media management, communications, and event planning.

Marcy graduated in 2023 with a BS in Animal Science, wildlife health concentration from the University of Vermont. She graduated with honors, receiving institutional recognition for her senior thesis on elephant behavior which she designed and executed while in Botswana with RRCS. Outside of work, Marcy can be found outdoors, enjoying the beauty of her home in the Green Mountain State while hiking, rock climbing, or sittin’ by the river.
