Thank you to our Volunteers in Botswana!
This field season, we were lucky to have two volunteers from the USA, Tom Jones and Wyatt Mayo, help us with data collection in Botswana. Tom is a good friend of Dennis (Round River’s director), and Wyatt was a student on a Round River program in Namibia this past fall. Tom and Wyatt were joined by Sixteen Sinvula, our local guide in Botswana who has worked with us since February 2013.
The small field crew worked with community escort guides in three communal concession areas of the eastern Okavango Delta (Sankuyo, Mababe, and Khwai) to conduct wildlife surveys. This field work builds on the implementation of a new standardized wildlife monitoring methodology spearheaded by our last two student programs in Botswana.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Tom, Wyatt, and Sixteen. We know our partners in Botswana are grateful for your assistance!
